LivyLu is the creative cookie genius and the adventuresome one of the group. Her mind is always thinking about new yummy cookie recipes she can create for her friends & family. LivyLu is absolutely crazy about cookies especially, perfectly round cookies. She wears her curly pigtails tied in hot pink bows, with a black & white plaid dress and of course her very favorite good luck baking mitts. When LivyLu is not in the kitchen dreaming up new cookie or baking creations, you can find her in the Library reading her favorite Nancy Drew mystery books or, painting in art class with her friends. Reading and fun activities give LivyLu’s mind the positive energy to create whatever she dreams of. Even though she is only 11, LivyLu is very determined and passionate about baking. LivyLu’s enthusiasm for baking is so contagious people young and old gravitate towards her. Her family and neighbors wait with excitement for her next cookie creation.
Taylor Jean is the clever, studious one wit who is the organizer for Livylu’s creations. She and LivyLu have been best friends since their first day of kindergarten. On that day, LivyLu was crying in frustration because she couldn’t keep her shoe lace tied. Taylor Jean came to her rescue and showed LivyLu how to tie her lace twice to keep it from becoming un-tied.as Taylor Jean was taught by her At age 11 too, Taylor Jean is already planning her big career as an architect. Taylor Jean loves stripes and the color green. She has even painted her bedroom with lime green stripes so she can stay inspired. Taylor Jean has been designing, planning, and putting things together since she was a small child. She is never without her notebook and special pencil. She carries them everywhere even to bed just in case she wakes up with an idea. In school Taylor Jean is always raising her hand, taking notes, and volunteering in class to help her teachers and other students. She considers her weekly library trips fun excursions where she gets a chance to study about different architecture in the world. There is nothing that can’t be figured out with Taylor Jean by your side.
At 9 years old, Virginia Ann is LivyLu’s shy little sister. She is the quiet, yet observant follower. Virginia Ann travels with LivyLu and Taylor Jean on their many adventures. They never mind because family is very important to LivyLu & Taylor Jean. Virginia Ann is trying to find her own adventures too. She loves listening to music, reading and writing. She plays the piano and dances but, she isn’t quite ready to perform in front of others just yet. Virginia Ann practices when no one is around. When she is asked to play for others, she runs to her room or hides behind the living room furniture. That is A-OK with LivyLu. With her big sister’s help, Virginia Ann is slowly learning to blossom and overcome her shyness in front of other people. Although, there is one person who brings out Virginia Ann’s protectiveness and strength and that is her little brother Peter Michael with whom she is rarely without.
Peter Michael is the special one. At 7 years old, he is the youngest and only boy. God blessed Peter Michael with a special gift to teach others about the uniqueness of people with Downs Syndrome. LivyLu and Virginia Ann adore their little brother and lovingly help their parents take care of their precious angel. Peter Michael is the bright light that makes everyone smile. He is never out of their sight or by their side just like Peter Michael’s Woody doll is to him. His comfort pal, who he never lets go of – ever! Woody is the character from the Pixar classic, Toy Story. As in Toy Story, Woody, is the go-to friend who all of the other toys turn to and learn from just as Peter Michael is to his family and others. LivyLu turns to Peter Michael as the barometer for her cookie recipes. If Peter Michael doesn’t like a cookie he makes a big frown and says “No, like” then LivyLu knows she needs to go back to the mixing bowl. If Peter Michael loves a cookie he instantly has a huge grin on his sweet face and says “More Cookie”. When that happens, LivyLu, Taylor Jean, Virginia Ann and even Rocky simultaneously let out a big “Yea” and dance in a circle chanting the “Peter Meter” has worked again. At that moment, they know they have the perfect right cookie recipe.
Last, but certainly not least, is their loving and loyal family dog. Rocky is a black Labrador/Shepherd mix with a white chest who is the unconditional friend to all. The family has had Rocky since he was 8 weeks old. LivyLu saw him at a pet store and knew instantly he was her dog. Rocky never leaves LivyLu’s side except to scarf up any cookie crumbs Peter Michael may drop. He is the comfort that LivyLu turns to when she may be feeling sick or a little disappointed. because one of her recipe’s did not turn out. Rocky can give her a look, a lick or a sigh, and LivyLu is ready to create a new recipe or adventure for her best friend and family.
