The 4th of July is my 2nd favorite holiday after Easter. I love the Spring & Summer, especially on the East Coast. Flowers have bloomed, days are longer and nights are for sitting on your deck or porch catching up with neighbors and eating a great desert. Everyone is out enjoying nature at its finest.
I also love the symbolism and meaning of this special holiday. It is the birth of our Nation and our Freedom. As citizens, we may not always see eye to eye about what is best for our Country. I hope we can all agree that living in this truly beautiful Country is a blessing from sea to sea. God Bless America! I hope you enjoy my 4th of July creations.
Recipe: Your favorite short cake or vanilla cake recipe. I used the recipe from www.joyofbaking.com/VanillaCake.html with a few modifications. I cut the sugar in half. You can use the LivyLu’s Perfect Cookie mold for a more uniformed & sized individual cake. I used all 3 size molds for fun. Top with your favorite ice cream or whipped cream and fruit. I used Breyer’s Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream with Blue Berries, Strawberries & Raspberries. Yum..it was really good. 🙂
